Lakeland activities

The Langdale Chase is ideally situated for the enjoyment of all lakeland activities. The hotel has two jetties for boating. Learn to canoe, kayak, windsurf and sail on Lake Windermere with Lakes Leisure.

Sailing days and tuition

Ark Sailing is situated only five minutes from the hotel jetty. For your convenience you can be collected from the hotel jetty at a time to suit you. A variety of courses and sailing days to suit all levels are available from highly qualified instructors. For an exciting, challenging day on the lake this is an experience not to be missed! Open water/pool swimming instruction

If you think doing laps is boring, learn the art of swimming with Lee Read, swimming coach to our very own Gladiator! Lee will teach you that swimming is about mental preparation as well as physical. Walking, trecking and horse riding

There are hundreds of magnificent walks within a couple of miles of the hotel and packed lunches are always available. Good climbing is at hand nearby.
Horse riding and trekking is available locally in Windermere.
If you want to sit back and let the Lake District come to you we can arrange a chauffeur driven tour of the area so you can enjoy the superb scenery without having to worry about driving on the narrow lakeland roads.

Golf

There are at least four golf courses within 30 minutes distance of the Langdale Chase. Windermere, Kendal, Grange and Lindale Golf Clubs welcome visiting golfers and a round or two can easily be arranged.

Paragliding

You can experience the wonders of the Lake District by hot air balloon or try paragliding from the fells. If you are feeling even more adventurous why not try flying a gyroplane with a qualified instructor.

Fishing

The area is renowned for its fishing and Windermere is one of England's best wild trout habitats. A guided fishing trip can be organised with an experienced ghillie or casting instructor.
