Our boot room, conveniently situated by the front door, serves as both a reception area and a hub for adventure planning. Here, you can check in as well as discuss your daily activities or map out exciting adventures with our team. It’s a welcoming space that helps set the stage for memorable Lake District experiences, making it easy for visitors to get oriented and prepare for their day’s explorations.

Our Hall greets you upon entering, exuding an inviting ambiance. It boasts a rich historical charm, with original wooden features including a carved staircase that add character to the space. In one corner a reclaimed 1890’s fireplace now beckons you to unwind and relish the warmth of the hotel. There are plenty of places to sit, creating a unique setting to relax and soak in the hotel’s timeless allure. Sensitivity of the restoration was essential in this grand room, using historical photos from 1890 we have restored the hall to its former glory. Gothic panelling and paintings have been removed to allow material wallpaper to match original designs.

Our bar offers a relaxed atmosphere, providing a cosy and intimate setting for you to enjoy. The stunning bar is a focal point, where you can savour a well-crafted cocktail by our mixologist, a pint of award winning beer or choose a glass of wine from our curated selection, our sommelier is on hand to help. Our Reading Room is a cosy room found hidden above the hotel’s entrance.
