A truly unique place to stay – right on the shores of Lake Windermere.
The Boathouse, built in 1896, stands proudly at the southern end of the garden and is still considered to be one of the finest boathouses on the shores of Lake Windermere.
At lake level it is used for the purpose it was created for – but set above this is a room with a view you’ll find hard to beat. Wake up in the morning and throw back the curtains (that’s if you bothered to draw them!) and you’ll be met with the lake in all it’s glory.
Facilities in the Boathouse are cosy and compact – with a fabulously comfy double bed and ensuite bathroom, plus a roof-top terrace where you can sit and watch the world sail by.
