A blooming lovely day in the community

On Monday 4^th November, staff from Langdale Chase, including General Manager, Mike Vincent, and Head Gardener, Claire Farrington joined forces with the school’s eco club to plant a mix of 750 different daffodils within the school grounds.

Daniel Thwaites kindly donated the daffodils, and the mix included four varieties – ‘Ice King’, ‘Ice Follies’, ‘Golden Anniversary’, and ‘King Alfred’. Differing in their flower colour, height and flowering time, the display will offer an interesting and long-lasting showcase this spring.

Claire Farrington, Head Gardener at Langdale Chase, commented: “We really enjoyed working with the students at the school and were very impressed by their planting skills! It was great to leave the hotel for the afternoon and do something positive for the wider Windermere community. At Langdale Chase, we are avid gardeners, and we are proactively looking to inspire the next generation. We hope everyone in the school and neighbouring areas will enjoy the display!”
